Sarasota Adds New Board Members

SARASOTA – Dick Robbins, Board President of Meals on Wheels of Sarasota, Inc., announces the election of four new members to the organization’s Board of Directors.

Lending their expertise to the 45-year-old community-based nonprofit that delivers 160,000 nutritious meals per year to persons in need are:

  • Jane Knaack-Esbeck, retired HR and administrative executive, owner of Andrick & Associates, Sarasota.
  • Elizabeth Van Riper, recognized marketing, real estate and fine art professional with Michael Saunders & Company, Sarasota.
  • Judy Wright, banking and real estate professional with Michael Saunders & Company, Sarasota.
  • Howard Rooks, restauranteur/developer/realtor, owner of Amore Restaurant on Longboat Key.

“The addition of these four professionals really adds new experience and expertise in a number of areas to our Board as we strategize ways to make Meals On Wheels Sarasota even better for those homebound residents who need us most,” states Robbins.

Feeding Sarasota’s hungry, disabled and homebound since 1971, Meals On Wheels is a local, community based nonprofit that delivers 160,000 nutritious meals per year to persons in need who are unable to provide or prepare a meal for themselves in their home.

MOW’s services are geared towards those with the greatest physical, social and economic need who want to remain independent in their own homes but cannot shop or prepare meals for themselves because of a physically-challenged health condition.
