Sarasota – March 27, 2024 – The Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club has graciously awarded Meals on Wheels of Sarasota a $7,500 grant for their home-delivered meal program. This grant will specifically help the 58% of their clients who receive their services for free, ensuring our vulnerable neighbors receive nutrition, connection, and wellness checks to lead healthier and happier lives. Their funding will help our initiative to expand our services to the area east of I-75 to residents living south of University Parkway. This grant will provide 1,250 freshly prepared meals will be delivered to home-bound and elderly residents who may have not received those essential services prior.

Executive Director of Meals on Wheels, Rhonda Leiberick, expresses her gratitude for receiving this grant: “We are thrilled to receive our first grant from the Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club! As we expand our client-base this funding helps us keep up with the growth in the eastern portion of the county.”
