Get a Meal

Our goal at Meals On Wheels of Sarasota is to nourish and enrich our clients’ lives through the services we provide. Our Home-Delivered Meals program helps MOW clients maintain a healthy lifestyle and remain living independently by providing nutritious meals, a daily safety check and friendly interaction.

Meals On Wheels of Sarasota delivers a nutritious meal Monday through Saturday to more than 750 Sarasota County residents daily who cannot prepare their own food. Meals On Wheels of Sarasota is not a program solely focused on low-income residents; rather, we serve the physically/mentally disadvantaged, people recuperating from an injury, and all those in need who are unable to prepare and shop for themselves.

Meals On Wheels of Sarasota offers a seasonal, heart-healthy, nutritional menu to our clients – one that meets Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) standards and tastes great. We provide lower sodium, lower fat and lower sugar options, which satisfy the many age groups and different cultural palates of our clients.

MEALS ON THE MOVE – East of I75

We have increased our capacity thanks to generous donors and a grant from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation and the Linnie E. Dalbeck Memorial Foundation. We have updated our kitchen and added new meal packaging equipment, allowing us to prepare as many 1,000 meals simultaneously. We need volunteers and help establishing a satellite location east of the interstate as well as finding clients in need of healthy meals  regardless of age or ability to pay.

Our clients are typically isolated and live with physical or mental disabilities, whether temporary or permanent. If you can help identify people who may be struggling with hunger and isolation, please contact us, or have them contact us, at 941-366-6693 or fill out the form to have meals delivered.

Our service area is from the Gulf of Mexico and east to the Sarasota County line, University Parkway and south to Albee Farm Road. This area is divided into 48 routes and covers 800 square miles.

We ask our clients for a $50 service fee upon enrollment and a donation of $6 per meal, though our philosophy is to serve all in need regardless of ability to pay.
